Dreams in Insomnia

I would like to tell you a story.
There is no plot or series of events. There is not much difference in beginning or end. This story involves a young girl, Eleanor Rigby, and her pale-painted giraffe, Jolee, who only calls Eleanor 'child' or, on occasion, 'mon petit frou frou' which means 'my little cabbage'.

I suppose this story is a slice-of-life novella telling about their days in the Gallery, a vast cotton field under blue skies, spending their time at a easy, unbound pace.

Each day finds the pair in a difference circumstance as Eleanor follows her simple whims; from counting ants to numbering the stars. They are found drying bouquets of flowers & cotton on one day. During another, Jolee is found sewing a quilt made of silk and clouds underneath the Wishing Tree. On one special occasion, the Child and Jolee hold a tea party by the creek with fine china and a blue-trimmed porcelain tea set. They serve pastries bakes by the pale-painted giraffe and must decide between chamomile, peppermint, or rose tea as their favorite. Another day finds the Child reading from Alice in Wonderland and Le Petit Prince while Jolee paints a picture of wild strawberries growing in the sea.The story is filled with adventure and dreams. But it's ending is bittersweet: With Eleanor growing older and more curious, she tells Jolee that she must leave to learn grown-up things, but will return someday to the Gallery.

This story is called Hello Goodbye.

But before I can to tell you this story...I must first return to Jolee. She is waiting for me in the Gallery to tell her the stories of grown-up things and reality, and for her to remind me of the designs of play.

Adieu,
La Anonyme

p.s. - I have this stuck in my head.
